I felt as though it was very easy to do. Took me about an hour and a half for install on my ‘97 Acura Integra, but I did take my time with it. It does come with two lines of string and two needles. It’s very comfortable and much better feeling than a store bought steering wheel cover in my opinion. Time will tell how long it holds up for, but so far I’m really enjoying it.Love this cover, good leather and best thing I've done to my truck yet! Installation was also easy and worth the time(about an hour)I have used this make of steering wheel cover for years in all of my cars. It's just that good! Stitching it on takes a bit of concentration and you have to be prepared to backtrack a time or two when you miss a hole, but once you get it on, you'll know it was worth it.I usually replace the thread that comes with it, not that there's anything wrong with it, but I like to add a touch of color to the interior. I use both needles that come with it, and put a different color of embroidery floss in each. I may use something that compliments the interior, but I have also used my school colors. Subtle, but just a little dressy.Nice results. Meticulous to install. Cord broke repeatedly. Takes time to do as all have said. The provided cord broke multiple times creating additional challenges. (See Update) But nice feel and look in the end. Keep in mind it'll take some time if all goes well and longer if you run into a bump in the proc. Im typically pretty patient and efficient with this kind of stuff and it's taken longer than I would have thought for sure. But as they say ..... All good things come to those who wait...... or are willing to work .... or put in the effort? Something like that.Update: After the cord breaking a few times. I contacted the seller regarding replacement or cord options. they were quick to reply. I was offered a fantastic reimbursement refund after I had purchased a heavier cord option. It was identical in every other way with the exception of being about 30% heavier from Joann Fabrics. I included a picture. This heavier cord gives you the confidence when pulling each stitch tight and as a result speeds up the process a bit. Still takes time but no one step forward two steps back if it breakes. This one (shown in pic) is perfect for the job in my opinion. I also included a photo of the end result. I highly recommend upgrading the cord right out of the shoot. It cost about $7.50 so do the math I guess and see if that makes sense for you. I also recommend gradual stretching. Do some stitching. Go back and tighten previous. Move on. Go back again. repeat. Until it closes the gap as desired. Allow the material to gradually stretch. Some have commented on taring . I did not encounter that. But they may have tried to go too fast or may have had the wrong size. Measure as recommended, the overall wheel diameter as well as the circumference of the grip (grip diameter). Also, the kit comes with two pcs. of cord. I chose to use one pc. of the new stuff abut 20 ft. long plus or minus. (3.5 wing spans.) Only one knot and less chance for flaws due to knots coupling 2 pcs together. Its a lot to pull through in the beginning but it wasn't so bad I regretted it. Id do it that way agin choosing between the two ways. Again. It takes time but you'll be pleased I think. Id do it again and likely much more efficiently next time. Did I mention it takes time? Kidding. Good Luck!Great fitting and looking product. They say it takes 90 minutes to install... I'd budget more time! But definitely worth it! Take your time and don't get frustrated and you'll be happy!to install this cover you must take your time, but once it is on, it is great.it will take awhile to install correctlyThis is a very good product, and as you can see it's super affordable. I'm very happy with the look and feel of this cover, and time will tell on the durability. I want to share some suggestions for making installation easier.MEASURE THEN MEASURE AGAIN. Measure your own steering wheel yourself. Don't go by what size anyone on here says you need. Be sure to measure all the way across the wheel but definitely don't forget to measure the circumference (all the way around) where your hands hold the wheel. This is how you get the very important "-/+" part of the sizing. To measure this part you can get a piece of string and wrap it around and then measure the string.TRIM BEFORE INSTALLING. Do a quick test install to see how much extra material will be there when you sew the two sides together. You'll be able to pull the thread pretty tight so if at first the sides don't meet you still might have the right -/+ size. If you need to, trim the sides of the cover before installing. I did this and trimmed probably 1/8 inch off both sides. I'm so glad I did this so I didn't have extra material bunching up.WATCH THIS VIDEO. Before you start installing, watch this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rObCWlUqocQ). It is for a different company's product, but it does a great job of showing you how to do the three types of stitches and where to do them.CAREFUL ON SPOKES. As you'll see in the video, you do a double stitch on both sides of the spokes. This stitch provides extra support and holds the cover down tight. Be sure to stitch close enough to the spoke so the cover lies flat. If it puffs up at all, you didn't get close enough before starting the dummy stitches (again, see the video). If you mess this up and realize it when you're done like I did, you can still fix the puffed up part. Get another piece of thread and go back over that spot to get the double stitch in the right place and pull the puffed up part flat. Don't be afraid to start over if you have to. (I'm going to say that again later.)EXTRA TOOLS. You could really use a pair of needle nose pliers when you're doing the second stitch on the spokes. You'll end up needing to go back and tighten the first stitch so you can get both stitches tight. Needle nose pliers worked well for me. Careful not to damage the thread with the pliers.TAKE YOUR TIME. This is going to take you 1.5 to 2.5 hrs. Let it. No sense rushing and making this look bad. Don't be afraid to start over if you have to. Also don't be afraid to take a break halfway through. I did.WATCH YOUR ALIGNMENT. Before you start sewing, triple check how the sides of the cover will touch and where on the wheel that seam will be. Try to make the seam uniform and in the same place all the way around the wheel. It doesn't have to be absolutely perfect, but why not shoot for perfect.ONE HOLE AT A TIME. When you're starting sewing, start by going through one hole at a time, back first then front. After you have done a good bit, you probably will be able to go through both sides at once and then pull the thread tight. But again, don't be in a hurry and do it wrong--if you have to go one hole at a time the whole way around just do that.USE BOTH HANDS. You're going to figure out your own system for how you hold the thread down to keep it tight and feed the needle and thread back through to start a new side. It will work itself out. One thing I did was to hold the needle in my mouth after I went through each hole and was pulling the long thread through. It's too cumbersome to hold the needle and pull the thread through while keeping the previously threaded part tight. Holding the needle in my mouth freed up both my hands.TIGHT IS RIGHT. Like the instructions say, "Tight is right." But I don't think you have to pull it crazy tight. Just get it good and snug. If you have a larger gap, especially around the spokes, try to pull the cover together with your hands before pulling the thread tight. I worried about putting too much pressure on those holes, but it does seem like they are pretty strong.Best of luck to you!Everything required was included including needle and threadMy steering wheel is 15-1/2 inches diameter and the size I got (M or AXX) is meant for a maximum of 15-1/2 inches. You have to be REALLY strong to stretch it onto the steering wheel. In the end I stretched it one 10 inch section after another before trying again to get it onto the wheel. I was surprised I didn't compromise the stitching at the join, but it held fine. That worked, but it was still really hard to get onto the wheel. Once on, though, it feels and looks fantastic. It makes the plastic steering wheel on our car feels so much better. Just make sure you have several hours to install. You will need to buy/use a hook to tighten the lacing. Watching a Youtube video helped a great deal.Look and feel is great! Better than stock for sure. Ended up removing the steering wheel with its trim from the vehicle for a cleaner install. Initially I was going to remove the steering wheel cover but instead sewed this on top.Definitely soak the cover before hand in some water. I also used a hook to pull the threads tight- thats a must.Overall very happy with it. Time consuming but relatively easy to do.I am very satisfied with this leather wrap. It came in good time and it's easy to put on. That being said, it does take a bit of time to put but the instructions are easy to follow. I would recommend, when picking the size, to go on the tighter side of things. It will stretch. I picked a large for my truck(2014 Silverado) and it fits perfect.
