I'm honestly not sure why this marketed as a "Soundtrack for The Wheel of Time" when it was made for the Wheel of Time video game released in 1999. There's literally nothing mentioned about it at all in the album booklet, but many of the songs actually fit the cues from the game's cinematics, which is a pretty clear indicator to me.There are a few additional tracks added on top of the game tracks, and to be honest these are probably the weaker tracks (with vocal accompaniment). But other than that I still love this album. It may not fit the Wheel of Time books, so if you're expecting some standard classical music to represent it then this is not for you. If you do however like acoustic guitar and flute, and want to hear something pretty unique, especially for the time as far as a medieval fantasy game soundtrack goes - I highly recommend this album. Some of the stronger tracks on the album include: Song for Moiraine, Voyage of the Sea Folk, Rand's Theme (Fanfare for the Dragon Reborn).Once again - this album is more than likely not going to be what you expected for the title. But don't dismiss it entirely just because of that.
