For more than 40 years, Peggy Thompson owned and operated a driving school in Little Rock, Arkansas. Teaching people to drive was more than a job for Peggy. Much more. It was a grand adventure and a thoroughly enriching career. Not only was she able to meet so many people, but helping them develop a life skill – a potentially life-saving skill – was something she found very gratifying. For Peggy, it wasn’t 40 years of working, but a lifetime of making friends and memories from the 22,300 students she taught to drive. After retiring and passing the business on to her son, Peggy began to reflect on her years in the car and the people she had the opportunity to meet and teach. In “Behind the Wheel,” Peggy shares stories about meeting and teaching students of all ages with a variety of life experiences and from around the world. You will enjoy reading how she successfully balanced family and career, and you will be touched and enriched by the stories of the people and experiences she encountered from “Behind the Wheel.”
